Case study
AI Training for the Church Creative Team (and a Stack of Vintage Baseball Cards)
The problem
Generative AI showed up fast. Creative teams were curious, cautious and short on time. They didn't need hype. They needed a practical way to start, and some guardrails.
My role
I built and presented AI and prompt-engineering training for a creative team of producers and creative directors at the Church.
The process
- Frameworks, not magic words. I taught two frameworks of my own: the Four D's (Discovery, Development, Detail, Delivery) for moving a project from idea to done, and IDEAL for sharpening a single prompt.
- Hands-on practice with the tools the team would actually use.
- The baseball cards. For team building, I designed a project where we made faux vintage baseball cards for the members of the division in OpenArt. Everybody got a card. It was a low-stakes way to learn image generation, and a lot more fun than a slide deck.
What I took from it
People learn a new tool fastest when the first thing they make with it is fun, personal and theirs.
